Nuclear power plants in the United Kingdom

6 listed nuclear plant records in the United Kingdom. The 7,084 MW total is the sum of listed nominal capacities, including stations that have ended generation. It is not the current operating nuclear capacity of the UK.

Lifecycle checked on 6 October 2026 against EDF’s UK nuclear fleet. EDF lists five generating stations, including Hartlepool, which is missing from this snapshot. Dungeness B entered defuelling in 2021; Hunterston B transferred to the NDA for decommissioning in April 2026. Generating-fleet membership does not indicate whether a reactor is generating at this moment. The retained capacity figures below are source-record values, not newly verified net generating capacities.

EDF generating stations

EDF lists five UK generating stations. Their station pages report a combined 5,958 MW as total supply to the national grid.
