Inzonex: Some materials in this database are rated to 1000 °C or above. Standard Inzonex projects usually address duties up to +600 °C; the allowable temperature of the complete engineered assembly must be confirmed for the specific application.

Questions about the fit test

What does the insulation system fit test decide?
It screens the entered duty into a system route, material families that remain within the stated temperature limit, a jacketing route and a checklist of unresolved design checks. It does not select a product or calculate final thickness.
Why does the test ask about geometry and maintenance access?
A straight pipe that stays closed can use fixed pipe sections or wired mat. A valve, flange or machine opened for maintenance needs a removable system if the insulation is expected to be refitted. The same material can therefore belong in one system and fail in another.
Does the first material in the result mean it is best?
No. The list is a screened family set, not a product ranking. A space constraint moves thin-profile families forward, but current datasheets, fire, water, CUI, mechanical and installed-cost requirements still govern the decision.
Can this test specify insulation over stainless steel?
No. It adds a chloride, water-ingress and CUI/SCC verification step, but the project specification and exact product chemistry must be checked by the responsible engineer.
What data can I download?
The rules JSON records the complete decision tree and material limits used by the test. The route CSV lists the six distinct result routes. A blank CSV lets a team preserve inputs, result and verification status outside the browser.
