What it changes

The price feeds every EU industrial carbon bill

For EU ETS installations, the EUA price is the benchmark for the gross value of direct CO2 emissions. The actual payable amount depends on sector, verified emissions, free allocation and the 2026→2034 phase-out for CBAM sectors.

For exporters into the EU, CBAM certificates are linked to the EU ETS price, with the official CBAM reference price published by the European Commission each quarter.
