A combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) plant combines a gas turbine and a steam turbine: exhaust heat from the gas turbine passes through a heat-recovery steam generator (HRSG) to drive a second, steam cycle. This raises overall efficiency well above a simple-cycle plant.
