Global Power Plant CO2 Emissions Dataset

Free, citable, per-plant CO₂ data: 4,155 power plants worldwide with measured/modelled annual CO₂, fuel, capacity and coordinates — merged from Climate TRACE, US EPA GHGRP and EU ETS onto the WRI Global Power Plant Database. License: CC BY 4.0 (free to use in coursework, theses and publications with attribution). Reporting years vary by source; 576 EU ETS records are labelled EUTL 2023. This CSV does not provide a reporting-year column.

Method, sources & limitations

Plants backbone: WRI Global Power Plant Database (CC BY 4.0).
CO₂: Climate TRACE v6 (satellite-aided modelled estimates), US EPA GHGRP and EU ETS (reported), matched by location + fuzzy name. The co2_source column says which.
Limitations: modelled values are estimates, not audited stack measurements; coverage is best for large fossil plants; capacities are nameplate.
