The state of Türkiye's industrial emissions

Across the 94 Türkiye industrial facilities with an estimated CO₂ figure (Climate TRACE), total emissions are about 81.7 Mt CO₂e/yr. The single largest emitter, Isdemir Payas steel plant (iron-and-steel), accounts for about 10% of that. The biggest sectoral share comes from cement. Among facilities with a known operator, the top three — Iskenderun Demir ve Celik AŞ, Türkiye Petrol Rafinerileri AŞ, Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari AŞ — account for roughly 24%. Most of these facilities sit in a temperate Köppen climate zone.
