The state of Kazakhstan's industrial emissions

Across the 20 Kazakhstan industrial facilities with an estimated CO₂ figure (Climate TRACE), total emissions are about 22.8 Mt CO₂e/yr. The single largest emitter, Qarmet steel plant (iron-and-steel), accounts for about 35% of that. The biggest sectoral share comes from iron-and-steel. Among facilities with a known operator, the top three — Qazaqstan Steel Group LLP, Eurasian Resources Group SARL, National Company KazMunayGas JSC — account for roughly 65%. Most of these facilities sit in a continental Köppen climate zone.
