Across the 29 Portugal industrial facilities with an estimated CO₂ figure (Climate TRACE), total emissions are about 14.9 Mt CO₂e/yr. The single largest emitter, Galp Energia Sines Refinery (oil-and-gas-refining), accounts for about 17% of that. The biggest sectoral share comes from food-beverage-tobacco. Among facilities with a known operator, the top three — Galp, InterCement Portugal SA, SECIL - Companhia Geral de Cal e Cimento SA — account for roughly 43%. Most of these facilities sit in a temperate Köppen climate zone.
