The state of Mexico's industrial emissions

Across the 62 Mexico industrial facilities with an estimated CO₂ figure (Climate TRACE), total emissions are about 41.0 Mt CO₂e/yr. The single largest emitter, ArcelorMittal Lázaro Cárdenas steel plant (iron-and-steel), accounts for about 15% of that. The biggest sectoral share comes from cement. Among facilities with a known operator, the top three — Petróleos Mexicanos EPE, CEMEX SAB de CV, ArcelorMittal México SA de CV — account for roughly 57%. Most of these facilities sit in a arid Köppen climate zone.
