The state of India's industrial emissions
Across the 297 India industrial facilities with an estimated CO₂ figure (Climate TRACE), total emissions are about 501 Mt CO₂e/yr. The single largest emitter, RPL (Reliance Petroleum Limited) Jamnagar Refinery (oil-and-gas-refining), accounts for about 4% of that. The biggest sectoral share comes from iron-and-steel. Among facilities with a known operator, the top three — UltraTech Cement Ltd, JSW Steel Ltd, Tata Steel Ltd — account for roughly 22%. Most of these facilities sit in a tropical Köppen climate zone.
