The state of Germany's industrial emissions

Across the 118 Germany industrial facilities with an estimated CO₂ figure (Climate TRACE), total emissions are about 113 Mt CO₂e/yr. The single largest emitter, ThyssenKrupp Steel Duisburg steel plant (iron-and-steel), accounts for about 16% of that. The biggest sectoral share comes from iron-and-steel. Among facilities with a known operator, the top three — Thyssenkrupp Steel Europe AG, Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH, Hüttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann GmbH — account for roughly 29%. Most of these facilities sit in a temperate Köppen climate zone.
