The state of Brazil's industrial emissions

Across the 130 Brazil industrial facilities with an estimated CO₂ figure (Climate TRACE), total emissions are about 140 Mt CO₂e/yr. The single largest emitter, ArcelorMittal Tubarão steel plant (iron-and-steel), accounts for about 8% of that. The biggest sectoral share comes from iron-and-steel. Among facilities with a known operator, the top three — Petróleo Brasileiro SA, Votorantim Cimentos SA, ArcelorMittal Tubarão Comercial SA — account for roughly 32%. Most of these facilities sit in a tropical Köppen climate zone.
