Sources

• Facilities, capacity, CO₂e & owner (backbone): Climate TRACE v6 (asset-level capacity & CO₂e, CC BY 4.0) — asset-level production capacity and CO₂e emissions estimates.
• Climate normals: WorldClim 2.1 (1970–2000 monthly normals, 10 arc-min, CC BY 4.0); climate zones: Köppen-Geiger world climate classification (Kottek et al. 2006, 0.5° grid).
• CO₂ equivalents: US EPA Greenhouse Gas Equivalencies.
• Maps: © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL), loaded on demand.

What we publish — and don't

Company-level facts only — no personal data. Emissions are facility-level estimates from Climate TRACE; capacity is as reported. CO₂-intensity and human-scale equivalents are clearly labelled as derived figures. We make no projections beyond what the sources state and do not editorialise.

Methodology & review

Each facility page is computed directly from the open datasets above — capacity and CO₂e as reported by Climate TRACE, climate context from offline WorldClim & Köppen-Geiger normals, and equivalencies via the US EPA Greenhouse Gas Equivalencies Calculator. Rankings are sorted server-side from the same data. The dataset is refreshed when upstream sources publish new releases. Spotted an error?
