How to use the Inzonex interactive heat-loss explorer
Every Inzonex equipment page is a live tool: a bare-vs-insulated 3D view plus an ROI calculator. Here is what each control does and how to read the result.
What you are looking at
The visual is a side-by-side render of the same piece of equipment: the bare hot surface on the left and the same surface with Inzonex removable insulation on the right. A vertical handle in the middle wipes between the two so you can see exactly what the cover changes.
Step by step
- Open the tool. Go to the brewery heat-loss map and click any area tab, then an item’s “Calculate this” button — or open an equipment page like the wort kettle or the boiler explorer directly.
- Compare bare vs insulated. Drag the round centre handle left or right to wipe between the bare surface and the insulated cover.
- Switch the view. Use the Isometric / Front / Side buttons (top) to rotate the equipment and inspect the door, valves and fittings from any angle.
- Open the ROI calculator. Click the orange ROI Calculator button (top-right) to slide in the panel.
- Set your inputs. Drag the sliders: insulated area (m²), operating hours / year, energy price, CO&sub2; factor and insulation cost (CAPEX). You can switch currency (€ / $ / £) at the top.
- Read the results. The panel shows heat loss bare vs insulated (kW), the % reduction, and energy, money and CO&sub2; saved per year with the payback period.
- Send for an exact quote. Use the email button to send your figures to Inzonex — we reply with a measured proposal.
Reading the numbers
Everything is computed on the same method (ISO 12241 / ASTM C680): convection plus radiation, a lightly-ventilated plant at 25 °C with 0.5 m/s air, and conduction through a 50 mm mineral-wool lamella cover. The insulated surface lands at a touch-safe ≤45 °C, and heat loss typically drops about 90–95%. The figures are indicative for guidance — a short survey confirms them for your plant.
FAQ
Do I need to sign up to use the calculator?
No. Every tool is free and needs no sign-up. You only share contact details if you choose to email your results for a quote.
What if I do not know my exact temperatures or areas?
Use the defaults shown — they are typical values for each equipment type. The result is indicative; Inzonex confirms it with a short survey or from a photo you send.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. The 3D view, the wipe slider and the ROI panel all work on mobile.
