The state of Switzerland's industrial emissions

Across the 21 Switzerland industrial facilities with an estimated CO₂ figure (Climate TRACE), total emissions are about 2.2 Mt CO₂e/yr. The single largest emitter, Varo Cressier Refinery (oil-and-gas-refining), accounts for about 27% of that. The biggest sectoral share comes from cement. Among facilities with a known operator, the top three — Holcim (Schweiz) AG, Varo Energy BV, Jura-Holding AG — account for roughly 86%. Most of these facilities sit in a temperate Köppen climate zone.
