It processes crude oil into fuels and petrochemical feedstocks through distillation, cracking and reforming. It is operated by Oil Industry Retirement Fund Investment Co. By capacity it ranks #1 of 10 oil refineries tracked in Iran. It emits about 2,595,318 tonnes of CO₂e per year (Climate TRACE) — roughly the tailpipe emissions of 604,969 cars.
