The state of China's industrial emissions
Across the 1,485 China industrial facilities with an estimated CO₂ figure (Climate TRACE), total emissions are about 2,642 Mt CO₂e/yr. The single largest emitter, Baise Prefecture City (aluminum), accounts for about 1% of that. The biggest sectoral share comes from iron-and-steel. Among facilities with a known operator, the top three — Angang Steel Co Ltd, China Petrochemical Corp, PetroChina Co Ltd — account for roughly 5%. Most of these facilities sit in a temperate Köppen climate zone.
